Lucy had a terrific racing career until she was retired at the age of 8. She was a pasture pet for a couple of years, and was then in training to be Cassie's new show hunter. Luckily, she also had a fabulous colt. Lucy has perfect manners, is very patient, and is never spooky. She jumps anything, even over 3' with great lead changes, and she also goes beautifully as a dressage horse. After being forced to sell her in 2005, we sadly learned of her passing in 2006 after a mysterious accident. She was three weeks away from foaling.

Lucy, through all of your quirks, and all of your quality, you taught me a lot, and I will never forget you. I (Cassie) was at Fort Jackson, SC going through Basic Combat Training for the Army when I received the letter from my mother informing me of Lucy's death. That was the toughest day of the entire 10 weeks.
